Thanks to a ridiculously great run of podcasts, this blog is looking more and more like a Resident Advisor outpost. Can you blame me after the Peverelist and Cio D’Or mixes? Adding to the pile ahead of eagerly anticipated full length The Traveller, Shed beams in another spacey transmission in his unique, idiosyncratic style. Nobody mixes Berghain-style floor burners with UK bass movements quite the same as Rene Pawlowitz… Ok, I’ll give you Scuba, but nobody ELSE can match. Indeed, the >recently appraised Shed remix of Altocamet< seems to pull vintage Digital Mystikz down into heady techno territory. This set is no exception, pulling for some Headfuck.. Funky (!?) with the criminally slept upon DVA remix of Becoming Real before utilising the practically feral, mongrel techno of T++’s Cropped (incidentally, a surefire top 5 12” of the year thus far) to effortlessly transition into some steely, gut punching four to the floor action.
