"IF YOU WANT A VISION OF THE FUTURE, IMAGINE CRAP 808 SAMPLES STAMPING ON A HUMAN FACE- FOREVER"

Now streaming from the Nite Jewel site, the follow up to last year’s beyond brilliant one-two punch of Good Evening and Want You Back EP (featuring also excellent The Samps) is available to download from today. Evoking warped and faded memories of codeine disco never made, both releases inhabited unique sonic worlds. Utilising the texture of four track recordings, clipped vocals and otherwise inadvisable levels of reverb Nite Jewel (real name Ramona Gonzalez) transformed opulent 80s pop into spectral incantations to Donna Summer and the temple of Moroder, steeped in emotion and tapping into the same feelings of isolation as the best of Ariel Pink and Grouper. On first listen, it sounds like Gonzalez has made the jump into higher fidelities and dropped some of the disco, but the ethereal vocals and dreamy melodies are still there. Listen below on this widget doodat or buy the digital copy here. Alternatively, wait for the physical release out on August 16th: though if its anything like Want You Back, it won’t be around for long.
