Prologue’s leading lady of mind melding, technoid psychedelia beams in a dizzyingly good mix for RA’s podcast series. Cio D’or’s exquisite full length Die Faser dropped on the tail end of 2009: a gorgeously understated foray into a hypnotic kind of minimalism, her own addition to a strand of head boggling techno with a very silly name. Whether or not “headfuck techno” is suitable/devalues the music/sounds stupid is probably a debate for a mnml ssgs/Resident Advisor comments page, but it does have the benefit of conveying the unique headspace Donato Dozzy, Traversable Wormhole, Cio D’or et al can put you in- and I’d rather not people added “post minimal” to the lexicon. This mix is a particularly brilliant display of D’Or’s considerable DJ talent, an extremely slow burning build that gradually weaves webs of found sound patterns into exploratory shapes. Trippy business.
